Thanksgiving

Dear all,

Well, we just sat down with the mail today and, once again, we are so overwhelmed as we read your missives of support, concern, and encouragement.  I find that I have to stop reading aloud time and again, my heart welling up and spilling over with tears, as the Lord reminds us over and over again of His love and care for us, and His presence with us, through your words and remembrances.  As we sit at the kitchen island and consider all the evidences of your love — the cards and notes, your emails and texts, your Scripture quotes, references, and exposition, your comments on the blog, your visits to our home and sacrifices of time and energy (which include any number of creative expressions!), your offers to do any and everything, and your fasting and prayers — I look into the eyes of my wife, Diane, and we wonder aloud “what would we do, what would we be like, where would we be, without your support, without your steadfast intercessory prayer on our behalf?”  For God truly is blessing us mightily — mightily! — through you!  And as He hears and responds to your petitions and sacrifices of praise on our behalf, He is moving within our hearts and within our home, and my symptoms have been most manageable.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for pouring yourselves out for us, for hearing the call of our God Almighty, the God of Angel Armies, and responding with love.  And oh, what love!!  Words cannot — tears cannot — express how loved we feel(!!), by you and by our King of Kings!

Your support is wide and it is deep.  As we sat in our family room the other day, utterly amazed and astounded at the prayer artillery that has been unleashed — absolutely UN-LEASHED — on our behalf, Diane looked at me and said, “Well, Joey (yes, she calls me “Joey” ☺), if it turns out that you are not going to be healed, we’ll know that it definitely was your time, and that God just wasn’t going to be persuaded otherwise!”  (See Ex 32:9-14 and 2 Ki 20:1-6 for examples of God being ‘persuaded otherwise’, so to speak, through prayer.)

Please know that we pray daily that the Lord would bless each of you a thousand times over for your sacrifices and expressions of love on our behalf, and that He would minister to the deepest needs of your hearts, according to His glory.  With heartfelt tears, we say THANK YOU!

With love and thanksgiving on behalf of my family and myself,

Grace and peace,

Joe Korpics

  2. Joe, I have been out of the loop for awhile, and just heard about your illness yesterday. It has taken me some time to collect my thoughts and respond, because I find it difficult to comprehend and accept what has happened. Your wisdom, senstivitiy, and humor have always impressed me, from the day we first met. But now your resolve and faith under these trying circumstances even further magnifies the tremendous strength of your personal character and moral foundation. God has a plan, and you are clearly a major player in His plan. You may not even know it, but you have touched my soul, and the souls of countless others, and changed our lives for the better.. You are most certainly blest. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

  4. Hi Joe,
I just received your email and I am speechless. You are the fourth person in the last two years that I have known with pancreatic cancer and I really don’t know what to say. I know you have turn your life over to Jesus and that is the only real and best solution that you have available to you.
I read some of your thoughts on your website and you have already displayed the strength and wisdom to be admired.
I do not know if you remembered praying for my daughter in her fight with addiction, but she is celebrating 11 years of sobriety. You have helped so many people and now it is our turn to help you. I will keep you in my daily prayers.

  5. Whenever I read Psalm 42 I can’t help but think of you. I read it again tonight after I received your email. You and King David would be good friends, you’re so much alike. He says in verse 7, “Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls….” You’ve always been one deep dude, but as I read your blogs, as you’ve exposed your soul over the past 20 days for us, I’m amazed how deep your river runs. I was certain that the bond that has held our friendship together through the years was our depth calling back and forth to one another. But I see how darn spiritual you are in this overwhelming time and I realize that I’ve been watching you and God call back and forth to one another, and I’m still watching, only at a new depth.
    I love you JoeJoe.
